At the end of June, a blessing was held for the Uputaua Therapeutic Ethnic Specific Practice Guides. The guides were developed in partnership with the model developer, Dr Byron Seiuli, respective Pacific leaders from Pacific Service Provider Sectors, agencies, community leaders in Tāmaki, and Kia Puāwai Pasifika kaimahi.
The suite of seven guides will provide practice tool or resource for FFT therapists, that would enable them to effectively weave into their FFT practice Pasifika cultural lenses, values, approaches, and practices to facilitate the therapeutic engagement with Pasifika families, essentially to enable and increase successful treatment and equitable therapeutic outcomes for our Pasifika clients and communities we are privileged to serve.
The event was a big success, and we would like to acknowledge the support of all involved - especially the hosting support of the Pasifika Komiti and Jon and his FFT teams for a job well done.
