Youth Horizons | Kia Puāwai is committed to the continuous development of an effective bi-cultural approach to treatment and service delivery. We deeply acknowledge the role of Māori as tangata whenua in Aotearoa, and as such, are committed to furthering our practice and understanding in Te Ao Māori.
To ensure this is achieved, our values and kaupapa are integrated throughout our organisation with all services committed to professional practice that reflects our core values of aroha, whanaungatanga, wairuatanga and manaakitanga.
Diversity and Inclusion
We want Youth Horizons | Kia Puāwai to be a safe, inclusive and encouraging environment for our staff, caregivers, rangatahi, whānau, stakeholders and community members.
As part of this, we are delighted to announce our commitment to achieving the Rainbow Tick accreditation during 2021.
Led by our Rainbow Advisory Group which is made up of staff in the rainbow community and allies, we have been through an extensive process to ensure our policies, employee contracts, procedures, Code of Conduct, recruitment and onboarding documents and processes reflect our commitment to celebrating, supporting and encouraging anyone in the rainbow community.
We have submitted our application for accreditation, and are in the process of making a few further changes based on the initial round of feedback we have received. One step further along the pathway of becoming accredited!
We hope to be fully accredited by the end of 2021. Watch this space!
