We have been extremely lucky to receive a large array of gorgeous hand-made quilts from the Auckland Quilt Guild. Each year, the Quilt Guild donate a selection of their quilts to worthy organisations in the community. The quilts are made from donated materials, and quilters work together to create different parts of the quilts.

The quilts we received from the Auckland Quilt Guild are going to the young people we have in our residential homes. The remaining quilts will be given to some of the young people in our foster care services.

Auckland Operations Manager Paula Norman said “We feel so privileged to receive these gorgeous quilts for our rangatahi. Many of the young people receiving them don’t have many possessions of their own, so these quilts are a really special taonga that they can take with them from their placement with us, back to their whānau. Thank you to the Auckland Quilt Guild for the time and care you have taken for our young people.”

We are very thankful to have been chosen as recipients for these beautiful works of art, and appreciate the generosity of the Guild, their members, and those who donated the materials.
