Transgender Day of Remembrance at Youth Horizons
It was Transgender Day of Remembrance this week, and to mark the day, we raised the Transgender flag at our national office in Auckland.
Each year, the day is marked to pay homage to the transgender and gender-diverse people whose lives have been taken due to atrocious acts of transphobic violence. It is also to raise awareness of the violence and cruelty faced by trans and gender-divers people that continues today.
We are a supportive and embracing community here at Youth Horizons, and remembering days like Transgender Day of Remembrance is important to us, to show our solidarity and aroha to all of our young people, whānau and staff, no matter their preferences.
