YP and YPP Service
The Youth Payment and Young Parent Payment (YP/YPP) service is for young people aged 16-17 and young parents aged 16-19 who are receiving government financial assistance to help them meet their obligations for receiving support. Young partners are also eligible.
Each young person is matched with a qualified Youth Coach. We support young people to create an individual plan, and goals and steps to achieve those plans. We offer a range of support networks and tools which support the young person including,
- Driver licencing
- Life skills and tools.
Participation is compulsory if the young person is receiving financial assistance.
The service aims to support young people to comply with their obligations and to achieve on-going education, training, work-based learning or employment, and in turn help them achieve long-term economic independence.
We provide services for young people in the West Auckland area through Youth Service West.
